Different types of editing

Copy-editing involves reviewing the raw copy (usually in a Word document) for grammar, punctuation, syntax, factual and consistency errors to ensure an easy-to-read and concise publication. (This can overlap with line editing, which focuses on tone and flow.)

Proofreading involves correcting typos, grammar and formatting errors in the final copy of the text (usually on PDF or paper)

If you are not sure which service you require, I am happy to discuss this with you.

*I do not provide developmental (or substantive) editing. This takes the full document and reviews the structure and content with possible rewrites. If this is what your document needs, I can put you in touch with suitable editors.
